Is it just me or has American Idol finally pulled off a season that has enough variety and talent to keep us captivated? Usually, I just like the audition phase and afterward (until the final shows airs) I’m totally bored.
The only thing that may have kept me tuning in were the dynamics between Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. Well, that and Jenny from the Block’s fashion choices. Even then, I’d skip through the performances as they weren’t that spectacular.
This season, though – they have mixed it up a bit giving us a whole new show. Why haven’t they done this over the last five years? If they had, maybe the VOICE wouldn’t have been most of America’s choice in singing competitions?
A few of my favorites for this year? Dalton Rappattoni for one. This kid is one to watch for sure. Tonight’s performance of Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell was perfection. Olivia Rox is another contender that I think has a bright future, and after tonight’s song, Confident, I think she’s going through.
